FEATURES - check in each week to see what we've been up to and what we have to say
directors note5/5/26. First and foremost I would like to apologise to those of you following us for the ad-hoc nature of my notes recently. Unfortunately the first third of the year has been very busy and try as I might, I haven't yet managed to catch up. So do forgive us if we're not as regular as we have been in the past. As usual we are ticking over; and our journey into the fold of HPFT continues. Recently company members have enrolled as Experts by Experience with the Trust, which enables not just a reimbursement of expenses but also payment for services. We have also spent time developing our Standard Operating Procedure and working out the different systems we are now part of. On top of this we are due to start our summer run of workshops and we continue to piece together the new show. So a busy time for us...
The Trust has also recently approached us to help with their extended training programme, for staff, which will include time in the simulation hub at the Colonnades in Hatfield. So, rest assured, that we are still very much alive and kicking even though I haven't posted as regularly as usual. And on that note, please also bear in mind that our website is on temporary hold until we know how to proceed under the Comms department. I wish to acknowledge the hard work that Kerry has put into the re-shaping of the website and once we know how to move forward under Comms I am sure the site will be bristling with new information and thoughts once more. Thank you for bearing with us. Normal service is still very much in action.... GM a selection of photos from this weeks workshops.

win of the weekWhen you are struggling with mental health issues, it's the small victories that can make the biggest difference.
I'm going through a difficult time right now looking after a parent who has just been through major surgery and the death of her mother, my grandmother within the space of 5 days. It's a lot - in every sense - practically, physically and emotionally. So I'm taking every day as a win right now and being thankful for the 'high functioning' part of my diagnosis. It's a strange thing, mental illness. I can arrange a funeral but I can't go to the supermarket without becoming overwhelmed. I am being mindful that after being so 'busy' the quiet time that will come later will be difficult and that's when I will lean on my support network. That is something I have learned over the years - seek out and accept support. You don't have to go through things alone. Mental health issues can be very difficult to deal with on one's own. If at any point you feel overwhelmed by life events and are concerned for your well-being please do talk with your GP about support for you. Residents of Hertfordshire can access the Single Point of Access for Hertfordshire Partnership, University, NHS Foundation Trust on: 0800 6444101; everyone can contact the Samaritans on:116 123 or www.Samaritans.org. Please don't think you have to suffer on your own, there is help out there. |
